way to go prioritizing cartoony graphics to chew up my valuable screen real estate instead of giving me something useful like a to-do list.
Oh Apple Mail has a To Do list. And Notes. But the Calendar is a separate app, as is the Address Book. So why not also have a separate To Do and Notes application? Oh, because they're stored as special formatted email messages in Mail.app, that's why. So how about integrating Calendar and Address Book better in Mail. It's a mess.

All I want is for my divorce to be final so that I can marry my sweety. ;) She's already the very best Christmas present ever!

^You've really captured the atmosphere, and the leading lines work great with the dog's pose looking down the platform - well done.
Wow, that is absolutely stunning and beautiful shot. Looks fanastic:D
Stunning. Did you use a graduated ND filter on the sky ?
Thanks! Yes I used a ND grad to darken the sky and a ND8 filter to buy more exposure time.

My recollection is that Word for Windows doesn't have it either. I have no way to verify that right now, though, since I don't have a Windows computer here on the premises.
Word XP & 2003 for Windows have a "book fold" option - not the same as the process that lifeofart was describing, which is more like something I've used in MS Publisher 2000.

Don't know if this has been posted elsewhere, but Apple's pc share has grown to 6.1% in the US; we trail by 0.3 percentage points for third place.
10% is in sight. Perhaps by the end of 2007!
http://appleinsider.com/article.php?id=2158
Hmm, interesting. 4.8% -> 6.1% in the US in one quarter. And if their figures for the world wide sales are correct, 2.4% -> 2.7% worldwide.

To work well it needs to contain all your apps and system files. For most people this means at least 100GB these days. Shockingly when I got my MBP in 2008 I thought a 200 GB drive would do it all for me. That really didn't last long at all.
Nice update, but I'll still focus on what is most disappointing to me:
- No Matte Option
- Still no wireless keyboard with numeric keypad!
- Lack of SSD options (was really hoping the rumor of a couple of months ago of a small SSD drive for boot).

Getting around 9-11% drain every hour on my 4. Standby and everything is off.

At this point, waiting another 3 - 5 months for an iPhone 5 would be more prudent than being locked into something so soon before a new device comes out.
That is why iPhone (4) sales will remain close to zero until the iPhone 5 introduction. A white iPhone 4 will not change that very much.

The white one is definitely thicker than the black. It is a much tighter fit, especially with a screen protector on it trying to fit it into The bumper was quite hard. Not much but the bumper is a tighter fit.

cool thats probably it then, the -16.
the processor trick is with the dev tools. there's a prefpane where u can turn off individual cores, and turn off hyperthreading. too bad there's not a dev tool for overclocking ;)
Oh yeah, I remember that now, about something in dev tools, that would be really interesting to have oc tools as well.

Can you name a few more? I have only seen Sony support AAC on their PMP devices.
From my own experience the PS3 and the Nintendo DSi all read iTunes purchased music, albeit with some metadata weirdness.

Heinous. Absolutely hideous.
And I'm a fan of eye candy.
The faux leather is almost as bad as this "Marble" OS X mockup, from back in the day:

I actually kind of like that, outside of the ugly close/min/max buttons and the scroll bars :P

Hmmm, lots of people seem to assume that "Universal iOS+Mac Apps" means running an iPhone app in a window/emulator on your Mac.
That's not what I meant at all.
Look at Universal iPhone/iPad apps. Same app by the same developer but it presents a different interface for different devices. It also means that buying the app once lets you use it on multiple types of device. Why not let developers do the same thing with Mac apps? Many probably wouldn't want to but it wouldn't hurt to have the option.
Buy X-Twitter-App for $4.99 and you get it on iPhone, iPad, and your Mac!
You aren't running an app with an iOS interface on your Mac, you're running an app with an interface built for running on a Mac.

I've just downloaded the update on my iPhone and iPad and i noticed that on the iPad (not iPhone) in the General Setings now there is now a multitouch gestures button to enable this function. It suports 4 fingers up to show the app switcher, 4 fingers to the sides to switch apps and 5 fingers to the centre to go to the home screen.
It works great!
I have the iPad 2 running 4.3.1 and I have no such setting available.

So am I the only one left with the original iPhone? Had it since Sep 2006. Was going to wait for the 5, but I'll just get a white 4 in a few weeks. I'm happy.
Nope, I'm also on the original and had it since the first day of release. However I'm on my 3rd original as one was stolen and the other the battery wouldn't last longer than 30 mins of use. Just glad I had family and friends willing to give me their old ones. At least I also still have the original cheap data plan too but that goes with the pain of a slow phone.
I had planned to buy the White iPhone 4 last year when released. Then I waited and waited like a lot of people with limited news. However no way, will I buy in now to the iPhone 4. After the pain of waiting this long, I'm gonna continue to struggle until iPhone 5 whenever that is. However just my luck we might have to deal with a delayed release schedule the year I'm finally ready to buy in no matter what.

Exciting to hear.
Hopefully they've entered a period of sustained growth, one that can carry them far into the future.
Given that they're at 4.7% (averaged), I'll guess they'll cross 5% within the next calendar year. (Though I suspect it may happen before MWSF)
Increased market share can only be a good thing.
Most people I know however, who were using macs at uni or at work, have all switched back to windows in the last year or so and they are not looking back. I suppose marketshare in the UK is not in par with the US. It would be interesting to do a survey of this increased user base and discover the role of the mac platform as it has evolved these days.
I suppose my question is: Has the mac/osx platform changed direction towards its function and purpose? What is a mac with osx good for these days?
A few years back the mac was the platform of choice for the creative class such as designers, photographers, Video editors, etc. Most of these people, with the exception of video editors, have now switched to windows because of the better choice of software and better upgradeability.
